After leaving school I studied languages and then went abroad to learn how to speak them “properly”. Following spells in France and Austria I ended up in Germany and stayed for 12 years, where I worked in the IT industry in sales. After a stressful 10-day stint at a computer show, I returned home with stomach pains. All sorts of tests were done but they couldn’t find out what was wrong, and these pains continued for years. The doctor kept telling me it must be to do with something I was eating but no dietary changes made any difference and I was in despair.
Eventually, after one long sleepless night when I was pacing up and down and in such pain that I wanted to die I called a homoeopath and begged him to help me. He told me that my pains were psychosomatic (that was a new word to me over 30 years ago but now I know it means “disease that involves both mind and body”) and that he was going to inject some Lidocaine (the stuff dentists use to numb your gums) into my solar plexus to calm the nerve endings and stop the pain. What??
However I was in too much pain to care and so I told him to go ahead. Within seconds the pain disappeared. I cannot find the words to express the bliss I felt to finally be pain free.
This experience actually produced more questions than answers for me though. What had just happened to me? How come the doctors didn’t offer this if it was so simple? What did my mind have to do with the pain? The guy had just made a miracle happen – why wasn’t he shouting about this stuff from the roof tops?
I HAD TO LEARN MORE!
And so started my journey to becoming a licensed Acupuncturist over 20 years ago and along the way I added various transformational healing therapies which have allowed me to enable others to change THEIR lives.
